Breathing on his own!!

I just had the best surprise ... I walked into Aidan's room to see him with no more breathing tube! It took my breath away to see our little fighter breathing in and out all by himself. Praise God! He was breathing so much on his own that Diane said it was making it hard for the respirator so out it went. Go Aidan go! His breathing is labored but his oxygen saturation is really good. Also no more fever! Today was a "marathon" of a day. We pray for strength for Diane, Sam, and Oma because sometimes the last mile seems to be the longest- hang in there!

Diapers and socks :)

Aidan is making his doctor's smile a little more each day. He was taken off the N2--"Nitric" at midnight and they are weaning the oxygen more & more. The pee-pee cath was removed this morning and he has a diaper on! Yeah diapers & socks---no more "Nakie & Naughty". They have changed his blood thinning meds in hopes that it will help with the blood clot in his "Fontan". He went off the Heparin drip and is on Lovenox through a shot 2x per day. Aidan opens his eye's and looks around---he watches what everyone is doing and then shuts them again as if he is bored with them all! No fever today---Yeah! Big hugs, kisses and love from, Aidan, Sam, Diane & Oma
We thank you all for your prayers, loving wishes and thoughts... XOXOX

All clean- Aidan had a bath :)

An email from Diane
"OK... last night was ok, not great for Aidan, but again this morning things seem better. Still has a fever. He opened his eyes and looked around at everyone, then threw up and fell asleep... I guess we looked scary! but really he is going forward nicely... we were told that if the day went well and also again tonight that maybe the breathing tube may come out tomorrow... keep your fingers and toes crossed! They have also bumped up his feedings, yeah! Sam helped to give him a bath and rub cream on him, she is doing the mommy stuff, which is huge, since it's been so long since she has been able to do that kind of thing. We are staying upbeat and positive... "

We are all thinking and praying for you guys and Aidan! Go Aidan go!

Please feel free to write comments for Diane and Sam, they are able to check this page at the hospital

Going in the right direction

Today was a good day! Talking with Diane on the phone this evening she said all the doctors had smiles on their faces. They are blessed with a wonderful team of compassionate doctors and nurses- they are right there with them- crying with them during the low points and sharing the joy when Aidan is doing well. There was no major progression today but small steps in the right direction. The swelling on his face continues to decrease and he is looking more and more like Aidan. The skin wounds that Aidan had are also starting to heal. Yeah! They have started him back on tube feedings as well. Also Sam thinks that his fever is starting to go down. Diane said Sam was feeling a little better today- she is an awesome mom keeping it together for Aidan (she must get it from her amazing mother!) Sam is passing the time by knitting a blanket for Aidan-pictures soon :)
Psalm 3: 5-6
5Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

An email from Diane:
"Aidan has a fever and they are doing blood work, we are watching for infection. His face is a lot less swollen and he is starting to look more like "Aidan"!!! There has been issues with IV's and we are at the RMH(Ronald McDonald House) right now, they asked Sam to take a break from being there since it will take about an hour to run a new line in his other leg near his groin again... poor little guy. He did make 2 poopy diapers today and that is the first in 10 days... YEAH! My sister's have been a huge help this weekend... Sam is very near the end of her rope, but we will keep her together. Oh and Aidan had his eye's 1/2 open today and he did respond to all of us"

Baby Aidan

Please keep praying for baby Aidan! He is a strong little boy who has lots of people who love him!
